An exciting weekend for all ages, our Avian Adventure takes you into Florida's biodiverse wonderland.
Expand your understanding of the winged wonders that surround our everyday lives, and let loose your inner Wild Hero.Plus, meet with local experts who will help you come up with personal strategies for protecting all types of birds and the environment they depend on.
Schedule:
Day 1 - Wings of the Forest + The Story of Birds
Day 2 - Maitland Bird's of Prey Center Tour + Birds in the Backyard
Day 3 - Birds of the Beach + Migration of Hope
Day 4 - The Wild Hero in You + Mission for the Future
Each day will consist of a light hike, meet and greets with local experts, and a provided picnic. Students will receive basic learning materials on the first day of the course.
Costs include learning materials and some basic equipment, entrance fees, guided hikes, private lectures from local experts, lunch and more!
Not provided, but encouraged to bring: shoes good for hiking 3-5 miles, rain gear, binoculars, and backpack. Locations include: Orlando Wetlands, Maitland Birds of Prey Center, Cape Canaveral, Lake Apopka Wildlife Refuge. Transportation is NOT provided. Minimum of 3 participants are required for General Courses, however Private options are available - contact ExploreandProtect@gmail.com for more information.
